The Louvre Abu Dhabi is the first branch of the famous Louvre Museum outside of Paris, located in Abu Dhabi. The museum is designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel. The Louvre Abu Dhabi’s collection is made up of works from around the world, spanning human history from pre-history to the 21st century.
The collection includes works by famous artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Van Gogh, and Monet, as well as ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artifacts.
DOCUMENTING some of the WORLD’s most valuable artifacts
The project entailed capturing parts of the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s collection, including manuscripts, paintings, and other important historical items. The task was delicate, as many of the works were both valuable and fragile. Photographing the Louvre Abu Dhabi collection necessitated a thorough understanding and appreciation of the works, a focus on detail, and patience.
I used a Hasselblad camera with complete Broncolor lighting gear to meticulously capture the collection’s pieces, and then adjusted the images on an Eizo monitor to guarantee their precision and accuracy. This project allowed me to work with experienced curators and acquire valuable knowledge in handling delicate objects.
This project was completed in collaboration with Berwaz Media UAE
